Landscaping Website Design: What Your Site Needs to Land Better Jobs

Cory Brenner·Oct 10, 2026·6 min read

Most landscaping websites look the same: a stock photo of a perfect lawn, a list of services, and a phone number. The result is that customers choose on price, because nothing else is visible. A good site lets you choose your customers instead.

1. Split Maintenance From Installs

Weekly lawn maintenance and a full landscape design-and-install are completely different buyers. One wants reliability and a fair monthly price. The other wants ideas, design and craftsmanship. Give each its own page with its own message, so a homeowner planning a $15,000 backyard doesn't land on a page about mowing.

2. Project Galleries With a Story

A gallery of random yard photos doesn't sell installs. Show projects instead: the before, the plan, the finished space, and a sentence on what the homeowner wanted. Even three well-documented projects do more than fifty unlabeled photos.

3. Show You Know Florida Plants and Conditions

Sandy soil, summer downpours, drought stretches in spring, salt spray near the coast, and occasional frost inland all decide what survives here. A page on the plants you recommend, and why, shows real expertise and catches homeowners searching for "Florida-friendly landscaping" or drought-tolerant ideas.

Fertilizer Rules Are Local

Many Florida counties and cities restrict fertilizer during the summer rainy season, and commercial fertilizer applicators need state certification. If you're certified and follow the local rules, say so. It reassures homeowners and sets you apart from crews who don't.

4. Pages for Your Profitable Extras

Irrigation repair, sod installation, mulch and rock, tree trimming, landscape lighting, pavers and drainage each deserve a page if you offer them. These are often higher-margin than mowing, and people search for them by name.

5. Service Area and Quote Form

List the areas you cover, and let people request a quote with the property address, what they want done, and a few photos. For maintenance, a starting price per visit or month filters out people who aren't a fit before they ever call.
